News: CITB-ConstructionSkills unveils three year plan

CITB-ConstructionSkills, the construction industry?s training board this month published its plan for how it will meet the construction industry?s training and skills needs over the next three years. Developed in conjunction with the industry, the organisation?s 2013- 2015 Business Plan outlines how it will:

-?????? Lead on the UK construction industry?s education, skills and training needs by working in partnership with industry and Government at local and national level

-?????? Support skills and training in construction by ensuring that Levy funds are invested in the Grant system and activities which make the most difference to construction employers

-?????? Promote Construction and Built Environment careers to keep the talent pipeline flowing and delivering a range of business support services that enable construction businesses to grow

-?????? Provide a wide range of high quality construction skills and training solutions including apprenticeships, direct training, testing, assessment, certification and awards

On publication of the report, the CEO of CITB-ConstructionSkills, Mark Farrar, commented:? ?For the best part of 50 years, CITB-ConstructionSkills has been working with the construction industry to meet its skills and training needs. Now, in the depths of the downturn, it is essential that we continue to support the industry in developing the highly skilled professionals it needs to meet the immediate challenges and prepare for the future.

?The Business Plan focuses on the priorities identified through research, our expertise and industry experience and is informed by the Government?s current and emerging policy. It sets out a challenging programme of activity that has the flexibility to respond to changing needs and demands.

?And we haven?t lost sight of the imperative of providing great value for the Levy by working efficiently and effectively so developments in the way we run our business, and improve our services to customers and stakeholders, have also been set out in the plan.?
